In the region of Casamance which is located in the south of Senegal, between Gambia and Guinea Bissau. The social and economic life is set up all around the Casamance River, where there are numerous marshes, swamps and mangroves. Kafountine is to be found in the northern region next to the border of Gambia, on the coast.
